Hal itu disampaikan oleh Anggota VI BPK RI, Dr Pius Lustrilanang, SIP MSi CFA CSFA ketika dibincangi usai kuliah umum dan bedah buku Aliansi Demokrasi Rakyat (ALDERA) Potret Gerakan Politik Kaum Muda 1993-1999 kepada mahasiswa Universitas Sriwijaya, Kamis (26/01/2023). “Mahasiswa menjadi kontrol sosial harus tetap mengingatkan yang memiliki kekuasaan agar tidak lupa dengan rakyat,” ujarnya.
Menurut Pius kekuasaan harus terus diawasi lantaran hal tersebut tidak bisa diserahkan sepenuhnya kepada partai politik dan pada lembaga-lembaga tinggi negara.
Ketika ditanyai terkait perbedaan tantangan yang dihadapi oleh mahasiswa saat ini dengan zaman dulu Ia menyebutkan bahwa pada zaman dulu lebih sulit karena dibawah kepemimpinan yang otoriter sehingga nyawa bisa terancam. “Kalau sekarang kan tidak ada lagi otoriter tapi mahasiswa agak sulit diperankan karena masa studinya yang pendek hanya empat sampai lima tahun jadi mahasiswa belum begitu matang untuk memahami situasi politik tapi saya percaya pergerakan mahasiswa masih ada,” bebernya.
Pius merasa untuk bentuk pergerakan mahasiswa pada zamannya dengan zaman sekarang sama saja namun pergerakan saat ini lebih mudah karena dibantu dengan adanya sosial media. “Maka mahasiswa harus arif menggunakan sosial media sebagai alat pelengkapan ide-ide dan mempertahankan daya kritis dan kalau sekarang tekanan mahasiswa harus menyelesaikan kuliah secara cepat,” terangnya.
Di tempat yang sama Wakil Gubernur Sumsel, H Mawardi ahya menyambut baik kegiatan Bedah Buku yang diselenggarakan yang bukan hanya bagian dari tugas dan fungsi kampus. “Perjuangan demokrasi dan keyakinan politik yang dilakukan oleh Pak Pius dan Aktivis 98 dapat menjadi penanaman nilai-nilai positif,“ ungkap Mawardi.
Mawardi mengajak semua pihak untuk berperan aktif dalam melakukan bedah buku ini dengan harapan dapat memberikan pengetahuan dan pencerahan.
Sementara Rektor Universitas Sriwijaya (Unsri), Prof Dr Ir H Anis Sagaff, MSCE. IPU ASEAN Eng, mendeklarasikan bahwa Unsri merupakan Universitas yang maju dan jaya dengan sumber daya manusia unggul yang berakhlak mulia.
“Hal itu dibuktikan dengan Universitas Sriwijaya rata-rata lulus pada 3,5 tahun atau 7 semester sampai 4 semester kalaupun ada tambah waktu tidak lebih dari sembilan semester,” pungkasnya.
