Securitynews.co.id, GARUT- Kapolres Garut AKBP Rio Wahyu Anggoro mengungkapkan pihak yang diduga di balik kebakaran masjid di Kecamatan Leles adalah perbuatan orang dengan gangguan jiwa (ODGJ).
Saat ini, pelaku sudah kembali menjalani perawatan di rumah sakit jiwa. “Sudah tiga kali masuk rumah sakit jiwa, obatnya kayaknya habis itu,” kata Rio dihubungi melalui telepon seluler di Garut, Senin (23/1).
Dia menuturkan ODGJ tersebut membakar di dalam masjid di Desa Lembang, Kecamatan Leles, Kabupaten Garut, Minggu (22/1) malam.
Perbuatannya mengakibatkan bangunan masjid sampai pada bagian atapnya terbakar. “Membakar di dalam (masjid) akhirnya terbakar, di atasnya terbakar, kami melakukan tindakan, kami amankan dia,” katanya.
Setelah peristiwa itu, pelaku kemudian mencari informasi terkait kondisi hingga diketahui ada riwayat gangguan jiwa.
Kondisi orang itu, kata Kapolres, diperkuat dengan adanya riwayat pernah tiga kali masuk rumah sakit jiwa. Kemudian dikuatkan juga oleh masyarakat bahwa pelaku menderita gangguan jiwa.
“Ternyata punya rekam medis tiga kali rumah sakit jiwa, kami antarkan ke rumah sakit jiwa,” katanya.
Kapolres menyampaikan dari hasil pemeriksaan, pelaku mengaku di dalam masjid kedinginan, kemudian mencoba menghangatkan badan dengan cara membakar sesuatu. “Dia bilang kedinginan dalam masjid,” katanya.
Kapolres menyatakan kebakaran di tempat ibadah umat Islam itu tidak ada unsur kesengajaan lainnya.
Selanjutnya jajaran kepolisian bersama unsur pemerintah dan masyarakat membersihkan materiel bangunan masjid untuk segera diperbaiki kembali agar bisa digunakan untuk aktivitas beribadah seperti biasa. “Saya bersama anggota, tiga pilar, membersihkan masjid lalu kami benahi, kami rehab lagi agar cepat digunakan kembali,” kata dia.
